Peak transformers are used for the galvanic separated triggering of switching transistors. They consist of one ferrite core, one primary winding and one or two secondary windings. The version with two secondary windings is, for instance, used to enable the simultaneously switching of two transistors in a bridge setting by only one trigger pulse.
